GV Mobile To Be Released Free on Cydia

Straight from the horse’s mouth, Sean Kovacs has decided to release GV Mobile for free on Cydia. It should show up today or tomorrow. In case you aren’t already aware, Cydia is the non-apple controlled app store which is accessible only after you jailbreak your iPhone or iPod touch.

For those just arriving to the discussion, we have been following Apple’s decision to pull all google voice apps from the app store, supposedly at the behest of AT&T.

Update: It has been announced that GV Mobile 1.22 is now up on Cydia Modmyi.

Update 2: If you are thinking of asking for a refund for VoiceCentral or GV Mobile, please reconsider. Apparently apple keeps their 30% commission on the apps, and the full refund comes out of the hands of the developers. For the $2.99 GV Mobile app, Apple took $0.90 and the developer got $2.09. When you get your refund, the full $2.99 comes from the developer. You sit even, Apple is up $0.90 and the developer is down $0.90.
