seems like 403 numbers no longer work. it’s not as easy to get google voice in canada now. need an actual US number

I live in Canada and have a 917 # (New York) through google voice. I moved from the 905 area to the 613 area (near Ottawa) and google voice will not allow me to change my number in my settings to receive calls. Does anyone have any suggestions

I’m not sure about Rogers, but TELUS won’t let you use your GV number for Fav 5′s. I’m also not sure why you need to go from MJC to GV to FPL to Cell. Why not just GV to Cell? I’ve tried the FPL route to try to get all incoming calls from GV to look like they were coming from Canada, but FPL doesn’t allow you to show all incoming calls as coming from FPL. In the end, I ended up paying TELUS $15/month for unlimited incoming and that’s as good as I’ve got. Outgoing uses GV Callback, so as far as TELUS is concerned, I get a lot of calls from Wisconsin.

No, voicemail to email doesn’t work unless people are calling your GV number. Setting up your local Canadian voicemail to use your GV voicemail will incur long distance charges each time someone is forwarded to your GV voicemail.
